For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf

I'm not even a 'film person' but I wanna see this movie like right now!!

It was originally a broadway play based on a collection of poems, each written about a specific woman and an issue she is facing (from domestic violence, to rape, to abortion), where each woman is known only by her colour ie Lady in Red, Lady in Blue etc. Tyler Perry has translated the story into a film, set to be released later this year (but who knows if/when it will actually reach the UK).

Added bonus... Michael Ealy is in it
...possibly the most beautiful pair of eyes on the planet.

ICACS at Fresher's Fair

So this morning, I donned my kente shorts and ICACS t-shirt and headed to South Ken.

Not gonna lie, we were all pretty apprehensive. It would be soooo sad if we spent all summer planning events and we had nobody who wanted to sign up.

But behold!! I spent all day talking to lots of eager students who seemed genuinely interested (they may have just been good actors and actresses but nevertheless I had fun talking to them!)

So now I'm PUMPED!! This is going to be a good year by force by force!!

Back to Black week is gonna be a madness. When I see the banner go up for Theme Day I might just cry a little bit. Movie night should be cool cos I'd really like to get to know everyone better.

The Inter-university forum, "ACS Says..." is probably the one I'm most excited about. It's a completely new event that I think we be a lot of fun. The Careers Convention will be nice too cos I think it's important that ACS doesn't just feed you and make you laugh.

Chop Chop.. jollof, chicken, plantain, curry goat.. say no more.

For now, I'm going to think about all the new friends I've made and leave you with a tribute to our Ugandan brothers and sisters

ACS loveeeeeeeeeeeee
